POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager of Standards will be responsible for managing the aircrew standards program. This role requires working closely with pilots, OCC personnel and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position reports directly to the Chief Pilot and requires the individual to reside in Cleveland, Ohio.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for managing the Check Airman and Instructor Pilot cadre to ensure the proper staffing levels are met, the standards of evaluation are maintained, and training operations are being administered to standards.
• Ensures standardization of Lead Check Airmen through observation of their ground and flight functions by conducting route checks and evaluation of check airmen performance.
• Coordinates annual training events for the Check Airman and Instructor Pilot cadre to review current Company initiatives, standardization points-of-emphasis, and collaborative programs with the Aircrew Training department.
• Interfaces with the FAA regarding standardization issues as well as application for new Check Airman and Instructor Pilots while ensuring the applicants being submitted for evaluation meet all of the regulatory expectations while exceeding the Company’s requirements.
• Provides guidance and recommendations to the Director of Operations, Assistant Director of Operations, Chief Pilot and the Safety department regarding standards issues, improvements, and changes.
• Prepares and conducts remedial training tasking from Flight Department management as well as Corrective Action Recommendations as prescribed by the Safety department.
• Responsible for maintaining the Check Airman manual by staying up-to-date with industry standards and training/checking requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting several internal and external activity reports to federal oversight.
• Serve as a Flight Operations Duty Manager in the Operational Control Center, to assist the organization in managing daily operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Airline Transport Pilot rating
• Check Airman and Instructor Pilot experience
• Bachelor’s degree, Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Familiarity with core job competencies including, but not limited to, FARs, SOPs, and other resource documents.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
• Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to self-motivate, handle multiple tasks, meet established targets
• Excellent organization skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Must be results oriented and able to obtain a high level of familiarity quickly
• Strong personal and work ethics along with a high level of integrity
• Must have the ability to work quickly, calmly, and under pressure
• Flexible schedule due to occasional nights and weekends
